Make being physically fit a top Priority in your life. In order to achieve balance in your health, work, and your life, you must determine what is most important to you, and what you value. Fitness is something that will help you in every area of your life because it helps to strengthen, energize, and enhance you mentally and physically, so that you, can be your best in every thing that you do. If you feel good, you will have more energy to devote 100% to your work, family, significant other, and friends, because you are taking care of the “goose” that lays the golden eggs. If you have the energy to do more, instead of being too tired from lack of stamina and physical conditioning, then you are able to do other things like going out for date night, and playing chase with your kids.

Make fitness just as important as work is in your life. In my experience as a health and wellness coach, the person who is successful in making fitness a part of their life, is the one that makes eating healthy, exercising, and meditating/deep breathing as important as going to work! We do not let anything stand in the way of going to work, even sickness has a hard time keeping us away from working, but we will blow off exercising very easily we deem it not as important, or vital to our overall success in life. But it is crucial, if we want to remain healthy and productive! With 2/3 of Americans being overweight, which leads to obesity and a gateway of a number of chronic diseases like heart disease, stroke, diabetes, and even dementia, and Alzheimer’s, we must make fitness a priority.

What is your “Why”? What is the reason for being more fit and having more balance in your life? Your “Why” has to be deeply meaningful to you! It has to evoke a strong emotion from within you! It goes well beyond looks and usually involves others. In my own life, before I lost 70lbs., and began my health journey, I had to determine why I am doing all of this, and why is fitness and taking care of myself important to me? My “Why” is that I have a son that is now 13, but was 3 at the time that. I want to be here for him to see him graduate from college, get married, and have my grandchildren. I want to be the father for him that I did not have, to teach him how to be a man, and give him advice on marriage, and life.

In order to make fitness a part of your balanced life, you must consistently do it until it becomes a habitual part of your life. It becomes as natural and as easy as brushing your teeth. Consistency is the Key to the manifestation of any goal because repetition turns actions into habits! Although you heard and was taught the myth that it takes 21 days to create a habit, science now tells us that 66 days is a good start, but it depends on the individual. So if you shoot for 66 day mark, know that you are well on your way to habit formation and. Hangs because the brain is repeatedly making new connections, which is creating deeper grooves, solidifying the behavior more and more. So stay consistent until it becomes natural, and hard to stop.
