Don’t bring date around your kids until you’re exclusively dating and don’t exclusively date until you’ve brought them around your best friends who can see past your blind spots.
Once in an exclusive relationship, consider deeply your children’s opinion of your partner. Often we are unconscious to old sabotaging patterns and attract a new flavor of your old Ex.
Tell the truth when dating: are you looking to remarry, looking for life companionship, looking for a casual partner for sex, social events, travel. Don’t play games or waste their time or yours.
If you mess up, apologize immediately. I’m sorry, it was my fault. How do I make it right?
This should not need to be said, but have safe sex. Both parties carry condoms and use them. Period.
