Speaking Point: As the economy improves, the number of people entering new job increases. This can be a difficult time of transition, but there are some easy tips to make the new office a great place to work. Speaking Point: 1. Every office has its own pace so try and learn all you can about the pace and culture as you get settled so you can merge into the flow nicely. Speaking Point: 2. Remember that most likely someone had this job before you and you are replacing someone, so stay humble and respect the fact that you are filling shoes you have never seen and that others may have feelings about that. Speaking Point: 3. Represent yourself truthfully...you have nothing to prove! Speaking Point: Get acquainted with the office politics and dynamics but stay out of it, remain neutral to other people’s agendas. You never know if you are siding with the right side. Speaking Point: Bring your personality, your strengths and your input to the table with the goal of performing at a high level so that you are an asset to your colleagues right away.
