Speaking Point: 2012 is just around the corner and what a year we have gone through. 2011 was the year of the "bully", the year of "teenage suicide" and the year we watched more and more of our young adults live their experience without a conscience. Parents, it is time to do it differently!

Speaking Point: It is time to understand what it takes to raise our children to fully develop with a clear sense of self, a clear sense of others and the ability to self-regulate in the world around them. Parents, we must change our attitude about creating out children in the image we have for them.

Speaking Point: We need to put our focus on developing a "family culture" that promotes the development of who each individual is, NOT who they "should be."

Speaking Point: If parents can learn to trust their child's ability to have their own voice and keep the communication open without judgment, they will be there for their child to teach, guide, coach and love their child through their child's own experience.

Speaking Point: Parents, we must attempt to make the shift from our expectations of "what ought to be" to the truth (without judgment) of "what is!"

Speaking Point: Yes it’s scary to put away the script of what "everybody" is doing and focus on what is really going on, but we, as parents, must have the courage to make that shift.

Speaking Point: Our family culture depends on it, our societal culture depends on it and yes, our future depends on it.

Speaking Point: It's a New Year, the future is here and there is no better time for parents to make this shift.
