Press Releases are Dead!
Press releases are dead. They are an ancient form of communication. They are usually too wordy with too much information. I hadn't booked anyone on television from a press release, nor in my last seven years of TVGuestpert, booked anyone on television for having a press release. They work for stunts and timely events that affiliate radio or television may or may not pick up on. I write about how to put together a press release in my book, "Get on TV!" as it's good to know the ingredients that go into one. Now most of the media want the facts and to the point: who, what, where, how, when, why. If they are interested, they'll ask for further details.
